Yes! We're Open To The Public - Whether you're a do-it-yourselfer, a wood worker, a handyman, a designer or just an average joe. We're here to help make your project go smoothly and give you input and expertise to help you save time and money.

Planing Lumber - Yes, we can turn your lumber into dimensional boards, tongue and groove paneling, window casing, base board, crown moulding or any profile we run. Boards must be adequately dried (bring in a sample and we'll test the moisture for you for free) and not contain any finishes, paint or metal (reclaimed wood).

Rough Lumber For Sale - Rough Lumber is available in Alder, Knotty Ash, Knotty Butternut, Clear Spanish Cedar, Clear Cherry, Knotty Hickory, Clear African Mahogany, Clear Hard & Soft Maple, Clear Red Oak, Clear Pine, Clear Poplar, Clear Teak, Clear American Walnut and Clear Zebra Wood. Size depends on species, most are available in 4/4, some are 5/4 and a few are 8/4.

S4S - Surfaced Four Sides means that a "rough" board has been planed on both faces and cut on both edges. At Valley Planing Mill we go a few steps further. We not only plane both faces we sand them to 100 grit. We also joint both edges rather than just saw them so that they are more square and true. We feel this makes a better board and a more ready to use product.
